Justice Complex to Serve as Y2K Operations Center on Dec. 31 

The Justice Complex (1201 Coliseum Blvd.) will serve as the central Y2K location on December 31 beginning at 8 pm for the following agencies:

City of Greensboro:

• Police
• Fire
• Water Resources
• Technology and Facilities
• Transportation
   

Guilford County:

• Sheriff
• Emergency Services (County Fire & EMS)
• Health
• Social Services
• Mental Health
• City of High Point

Police
Fire
Greensboro/Guilford County Emergency Management
Duke Power Company
BellSouth
Piedmont Natural Gas Company
American Red Cross
Guilford County Amateur Radio Emergency Services
Local Emergency Planning Committee

Representatives from the above agencies will be overseeing Y2K operations from the Complex as long as necessary. The media is welcome to visit the Complex but will not be allowed in the Operations Center.

A temporary Y2K hotline number has been set up for citizens to call to report any Y2K disturbances. This number is 433-7384. It will be activated at 7 am December 31 and will remain in use as long as necessary. Citizens should still call 911 for any emergencies.
