Update on City Services During Current Weather Conditions

The City of Greensboro Administrative Offices, located in the Melvin Municipal Office Building at 300 West Washington Street, are closed for the day. Service critical employees are requested to report to work if possible.

City of Greensboro snow crews have been plowing city streets since the winter weather began last night. They are currently concentrating on main roadways and major thoroughfares. Secondary roads have not been cleared at this time. Terry Bellamy, Manager Transportation Operations, cautions citizens that as snow plows work to clear secondary streets, snow may be thrown into their driveways. He apologized for the inconvenience to citizens and requested their patience.

Citizens who need emergency human services transportation should call 297-5215 or 297-5210.

For any other type of problem, the City has established a Weather Hotline number at 433-7384.

There will be no trash or recycling collection today. The White Street landfill is closed. All libraries and parks and recreation centers are closed. GTA buses are not operating. SCAT vans will be serving dialysis patients only.

City officials will review weather conditions this evening to determine when services will resume Wednesday.
