Unity 2000 Cultural Festival to be Held May 20 

The City of Greensboro's Human Relations Commission and the Committee of 100 in conjunction with the National Conference for Community and Justice are sponsoring a Cultural Festival on May 20, 2000. The festival, a citywide event entitled "Unity 2000", is intended to unite and celebrate the city's cultural diversity by promoting an understanding of diversity among various cultures and ethnic groups in Greensboro.

The event will showcase cultural displays, food, fashion, games and a central stage for ongoing cultural entertainment. The festival will be located on Davie Street and also encompass the Cultural Arts Center Grounds. The festival will be from 10 am until 6 pm.

The day's activities will begin with a multicultural parade along Friendly Avenue and feature fifteen different cultural groups including the African, Bosnian, Caribbean, Chinese, Cuban, French, Greek, Hispanic/Latino, Korean, Kosovian, Laotian, Native American, Nigerian, Palestinian, Russian, and Scottish.
