Yard Debris Collection Codes Return to Normal July 3
Beginning Monday, July 3, all yard waste and storm debris brought to the curb for collection by the City of Greensboro must be bundled to code. These restrictions have been relaxed since the May 25 storm in order to allow citizens to clear their yards of storm debris.
As of July 3, all yard debris should be placed at the curb by 7 am on the regularly scheduled garbage and recycling collection day. Bundled yard debris will be picked up on the regular collection day. Storm debris that has been placed at the curb prior to July 3 that is not bundled to code will be picked up one final time as crews begin the final collection cycle of this debris.
Starting July 3, regular yard waste bundling requirements apply and all yard waste must be prepared as follows:
- Place yard waste in a metal or plastic trash can. A full can should weigh no more than 50 pounds.
- Place yard waste in a heavy duty clear plastic bag. Filled bags should weigh no more than 50 pounds.
- Bundle yard waste with string. Bundles should be no longer than five feet and weigh no more than 50 pounds.
