2000 Population and Housing Estimates 

The City of Greensboro Planning Department has estimated Greensboro’s population to be 213,003 as of April 1. This figure represents an increase of 15.8 percent above the 1990 census population of 183,894 persons. An estimated 201,380 persons were living in households and 11,623 in group quarters, such as college dormitories, retirement and nursing homes and transient lodging.
