McKinsey Report Public Presentation January 11

The McKinsey Report, a 41-page detailed evaluation of Greater Greensboro’s economic situation, will be presented on Thursday, January 11 at 5:30 pm in the City Council Chamber. The report, entitled, "Building Consensus for Greensboro’s Future", was financed by six community foundations: Joseph M. Bryan, Cemala, Community, Moses Cone Wesley Long, Tannenbaum-Sternberger, and Weaver. It will be presented by Skip Moore of the Weaver Foundation and Jim Melvin of the Bryan Foundation.

McKinsey & Co. was founded in the United States in 1926 and is a leading strategic management consulting firm with offices worldwide. The company spent five weeks conducting interviews with business and civic leaders and collecting a fact base drawn from government, industry and private sources. The final report is organized into three sections: economic evaluation, economic forecast and discussion agenda.

Jim Melvin notes that the report "serves as an accurate assessment of Greensboro’s current economy and addresses actions to be taken in order to ensure a healthy future." He hopes that it will serve as a catalyst for community input and action.

The presentation will be broadcast live on Greensboro Cable Channel 13. It will also be re-broadcast throughout the month of January. Replay schedule is available on the Channel 13 Internet site.
