"Take It to Raleigh" Guilford Delegation to Hold Meeting to Receive Public Input
The Guilford Delegation will hold a Public Meeting to receive input from the citizens of Guilford County on Tuesday, April 30, 2002. The meeting, "Take It to Raleigh", scheduled to begin at 7 pm and concluding around 8:30 pm, will be held in the Greensboro City Council Chamber, City Hall, 2nd floor of the Melvin Municipal Building located on Eugene Street in downtown Greensboro.
As the General Assembly prepares to begin its Short Session next month, the Guilford Delegation, as has been its usual custom, will give citizens of Guilford County an opportunity to express any concerns or issues they may have about state government. "We are interested in what the citizens have to say and we will be prepared to listen and take those issues and ideas back to Raleigh with us", stated Alma Adams, Delegation Chair.
The delegation is made up of fourteen members jointly in the House and Senate who represent all or parts of Guilford County to include the cities of High Point and Greensboro.
The difficult challenges facing the state, including the budget crises and other issues, have continued to raise awareness among citizens and has increased overall participation and interest in policymaking.
All citizens are invited to participate and are encouraged to come to the meeting to share their ideas and comments with members of the North Carolina House and Senate.
The meeting will be televised for citizens who may not be able to physically attend.
