Fairway Advertising Boosts Water Conservation Effort
July 11, 2002

Fairway Outdoor Advertising is donating two prominent billboards with the "Conservation Counts!" message to help increase awareness about Greensboro’s water situation.

Greensboro Mayor Keith Holliday notes that Fairway’s donation is very much appreciated. “I would like to thank Fairway Outdoor Advertising for their generous donation to the citizens of Greensboro. It will be a major benefit as we strive to get this important message to the community.”

A press conference has been scheduled for 9:30 am, Friday, July 12 at Fairway Outdoor, 1920 West Lee Street. City and Fairway officials will unveil the billboards.  Both billboards are hand painted and attendees will be able to see a Fairway artist conclude the painting of the second billboard.

The two billboards are valued at $4,980 and will rotate throughout the city and Guilford County. The rotary bulletins are a noteworthy addition to the eight poster billboards that the City leased to kick off their ‘Conservation Counts’ Campaign in April. Fairway’s General Manager, Jim Pridgen, said “Fairway Outdoor Advertising of the Triad and our 40 employees are proud to support the City in its conservation efforts. We encourage other businesses to do likewise.”
