'Bridge the Gap' Communications Forum
October 31, 2003

The Greensboro Mayor's Committee for Persons with Disabilities will hold a Communications Forum on Monday, November 10 at 6 pm at the Central Library, 219 N. Church Street. The forum will focus on ways to bridge the communication gap for non-print readers.

"There are many persons in our community who can be identified as 'non-print readers,'" states Dottie Neely, Committee Treasurer. "These special populations cannot take advantage of information displayed in print form or across a television screen." This deficiency of communication can be life threatening for persons with disabilities in the event of severe weather or emergency situations.

Representatives from media, government, social services and all other interested persons are invited to attend this forum to learn more about this issue, locate community resources and discuss ways to 'Bridge the Gap' in our community communications.

For more information, contact Dottie Neely at 641-3348 or Donna Gray at 373-2723.
