West Friendly Avenue Lane Closures Begin Wed., Oct. 18
GREENSBORO, NC (October 17, 2006) – The City of Greensboro announces the closure of travel lanes on West Friendly Avenue at Starmount Drive beginning Wednesday, October 18 and continuing for approximately three weeks.
The closures are necessary to construct storm sewer lines as part of the Friendly Avenue widening project. The lane closures will alternate between eastbound and westbound Friendly Avenue throughout the three-week period.
During this time, to help minimize congestion during morning and afternoon commutes, eastbound Friendly Avenue will remain open with two lanes of traffic between 7 and 9 am and westbound Friendly Avenue will remain open with two lanes of traffic between 4 and 6 pm.
In addition, Starmount Drive will be closed to thru traffic at West Friendly Avenue during this time. Local residents will be allowed access to their property at all times. Motorists are advised to use caution in this area, expect delays and follow the signed detour route.
