Mounted Patrol Unit Demonstration

GREENSBORO, NC -- (November 17, 2006) -- On Friday, November 17, at 2 pm, the Fayetteville Police Department, in conjunction with the Greensboro Police Department’s Center City Resource Team, is providing a horse patrol unit demonstration in the 200 block of Greene Street in the area east of the Melvin Municipal Building near the Phill G. McDonald Governmental Plaza. Two to three Fayetteville police officers, with their police horses, will demonstrate the capabilities of a mounted patrol unit, followed by a question and answer period for any attending members of the Greensboro City Council, City Manager’s office and Police command staff. The mounted unit will then be in the downtown area through the evening hours.

This demonstration will be opened to the public and is a part of a feasibility study regarding a possible future incorporation of police horses by the Greensboro Police Department’s Center City Resource Team.
