One City, One Book event scheduled for Wednesday, October 4,
at Green Hill Center for North Carolina Art

Trio, a short play by Mark Smith-Soto will be performed at the Greenhill Center for NC Art, in the downtown Cultural Arts Center on Wednesday, October 4, at 12 noon. Set in a Nazi concentration camp, Smith-Soto wrote the play after he visited the Holocaust Memorial Museum.

Mark Smith-Soto is an award-winning poet and the director of the UNCG Center for Creative Writing in the Arts. Mark will be on hand to talk about the process of writing the play. The work brings to life a tableau set in a Nazi concentration camp at the moment a prisoner is entering the camp. The drama explores the psychology of three characters at this crucial time and place.

The reading is free and open to the public. This is a “Brown Bag Lunch” program, so spectators are welcome to bring their lunch. Drinks and desserts will be provided.

This One City, One Book event will be held on Wednesday, October 4, at 12 noon in the Cultural Arts Center. Additional information can be found on the One City, One Book  website.
