 Greensboro Police Chief Search Update
Sixty-three applications received; interviews to begin in February

GREENSBORO -- The City of Greensboro is one step closer to choosing the next police chief, with the closing of the application period on Monday, January 8. The search yielded 63 applications for the position.

Below is the proposed timeline for the selection process:

The official announcement of the search for a chief was made in October 2006, and the City gathered input from the community during November to learn what residents wanted in a new chief and from the police department. The target date for hiring a new chief is April 2007. Tim Bellamy has served as Interim Chief since January 9, 2006.
