Greensboro Channel 13 Wins Two 2007 Telly Awards
GREENSBORO – The City of Greensboro’s Cable Channel 13 received two Telly Awards for video production in the 28th Annual Telly Awards competition. Founded in 1978, the Telly Awards are the premier awards competition honoring outstanding local, regional, and cable TV commercials and programs. More than 13,000 entries are submitted for Telly Awards annually from around the world.
Channel 13 won a first place Telly for the September edition of “Inside Greensboro.” This monthly magazine-type program highlights currents events and issues around Greensboro. Channel 13 also won a second place Telly for its Bond Referendum program which highlighted the 11 bond projects on a fall referendum.
As Greensboro's government access channel, Channel 13 is dedicated to providing City government information, and was founded in 1995 with a grant from Time Warner as part of the City's Cable Television Franchise Agreement. The station operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and is now available to anyone with an Internet connection.
