HEAT Service to End Operations for 2006-07 School Year on May 12

GREENSBORO – Greensboro Transit Authority announces that Higher Education Area Transit (HEAT) will end semester transit operations on Saturday, May 12. This is also the last date of the semester that student identification cards and school-issued fare cards will be valid for fare-free travel on HEAT or GTA. Students and the general public are encouraged to use GTA for their transportation needs this summer with many GTA routes serving destinations at or near HEAT bus stops. Full route and fare information is available on the GTA website.

HEAT service for the fall 2007 semester will begin on Monday, August 6. Student identification cards will be activated for use on that date and fall 2007 HEAT fare cards will be issued to students by the appropriate campuses.
