Repair of Small Water Leak on Wendover Avenue

GREENSBORO, NC -- (August 31, 2007) -- The City of Greensboro Water Resources Department is aware of a small water leak that became evident on August 29 on Wendover Avenue in the same general area as the major line break last month, east of Hill Street. Crews had to wait until night hours for low noise to detect the origin of the leak, which appears to be a small abandoned service line.

In the interest of traffic and crew safety and the time it takes to coordinate traffic control and pavement replacement, the leak will be repaired on Tuesday, September 4. The public can expect the inner two lanes of eastbound Wendover in this area to be closed from 9 am until early afternoon. Normal traffic pattern should be restored by 5 pm. 

Repairs are not expected to cause any interruptions to water service.
