Streets to Close for A&T Homecoming
GREENSBORO -- (October 22, 2007) -- Several City streets will close on Saturday, October 27 during NC A&T State University's homecoming activities.
Street closings will begin between 5 and 6 am:
- Murrow Boulevard will be closed from Lee Street to Summit Avenue; will reopen after parade and street cleaning.
- Yanceyville Street will be closed from Summit Avenue to Dudley Street and continue on Dudley to Market Street; will reopen after the parade. Local traffic to the Farmers' Curb Market may access Yanceyville Street as far as Homeland Avenue.
- Dudley Street will be closed at Market Street; will reopen at the end of the day. No traffic will be allowed onto Lindsay Street from Banks Street, Stewart Street or Boyd Street until Lindsay Street reopens at the end of the day.
- Lindsay Street will be closed from Murrow Avenue to Headquarters Drive; will reopen at the end of the day. No vehicles will be allowed to enter or exit the parking lot after the street is closed for the parade.
- Boyd Street will be closed from Lindsay Street to Dewey Street.
- Sullivan Street will be closed from Summit Avenue to Sullivan Street for the bus routes. Local traffic to Park, Homeland, Circle, Dewey and Castlewood will be allowed.
Access to the Farmers' Curb Market, vendor parking and City staff parking may be made via Summit / Yanceyville to Homeland to parking areas.
- Lindsay Street between Dudley / Yanceyville
- Boyd Street between Lindsay and Dewey
- Sullivan Street between Lindsay and Benbow
In addition, the following streets will be closed from 5:30 am to 1 pm for the homecoming parade:
- Murrow Boulevard from Lee to Summit
- Lindsay Street from Murrow to Dudley / Yanceyville
