Library Transforms Into Hogwarts

In celebration of the upcoming release of the new Harry Potter book, the Kathleen Clay Edwards Family Branch will be magically transformed into Hogwarts on Wednesday, July 18 at 3 pm. When children arrive they can put on the Sorting Hat and decide if they want to be in Griffindor, Slytherin, Ravenclaw or Hufflepuff house, then make a badge to declare their allegiance.

Muggles and wizards can then visit Honeydukes Snack Shop for refreshments. There will be Polyjuice Potion served from a cauldron, Hogsmeade Biscuits, Norberts Firebreathing Chips, Cauldron Cakes and Bertie Botts Everyflavor Beans. Then it’s off to Wandmaking where children can decorate a wand with Phoenix Feathers, Dragon Sparks and Hippogriff Blinks.

Children can also enjoy a lesson in Herbology while learning about some very unusual plants including an Egg Tree and the Venus Flytrap. There will also be an O.W.L. trivia contest where clever Muggles can win prizes. Hogwarts Express will be taking off from platform 9 ¾ (hay ride through the park). Children can enjoy Ancient Storytelling with tales of mythical creatures and receive a personalized Caligraphy Acceptance Notice for Hogwarts.
