City Offices to Close in Observance of Thanksgiving Holiday
GREENSBORO, NC -- (November 16, 2007) -- City of Greensboro offices will be closed on Thursday, November 22 and Friday, November 23 in observance of Thanksgiving. The following services and facilities will operate on a holiday schedule:
• No garbage, recycling, bulk trash, yard waste, and appliance services will take place on Thursday, November 22. Thursday’s garbage collection will take place on Wednesday, November 21. Friday’s collection will take place as normal.
• The White Street Landfill and the Solid Waste Transfer Station will both be closed on Thursday, November 22. Regular hours will resume Friday, November 23.
• All branches of the Greensboro Public Library will be closed Thursday, November 22, and Friday, November 23. Regular hours resume Saturday, November 24. The Greensboro Historical Museum will be closed on Thursday, November 22 and Friday, November 23. Regular hours resume Saturday, November 24.
• The Greensboro Transit Authority (GTA) will not operate on Thursday, November 22. Regular service will resume on Friday, November 23. HEAT service will offer reduced frequencies on routes 73 and 75 and no service on route 74 on Wednesday, November 21. There will be no HEAT service Thursday, November 22 through Saturday, November 24. Normal service will resume Sunday, November 25. HEAT riders are asked to consider using GTA routes which serve many HEAT destinations. Limited SCAT service for dialysis patients who are wheelchair-bound will be provided on Thursday, November 22, between 6:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. Normal service will resume Friday, November 23. No Career Express service will be offered on Thursday, November 22. Service will resume on Friday, November 23 with 24-hour advance notice reservation. Call 333-6589 for reservations.
