City Awarded Public Sector Star by NC Department of Labor
GREENSBORO, NC – (November 26, 2007) – The NC Department of Labor Commissioner, Cherie Berry, will present the Public Sector Star Award to the City of Greensboro Water Resources Department on Tuesday, November 27 at 11 am in the J. Edward Kitchen Operations Center, 2602 South Elm Eugene Street. A tour of the facilities and a brief question and answer session will follow Berry’s presentation of the award, which recognizes state and local governments for their leadership and commitment to occupational safety and health.
“The City is delighted to be recognized by the NC Department of Labor as a Public Sector Star recipient,” said Greensboro City Manager Mitch Johnson. “This award is proof positive that the City’s Water Resources Department is among the best in North Carolina.”
The City’s Water Resources Department is the seventh Public Sector Star award recipient in North Carolina and the eighth participant in Guilford County of the Carolina Star Program.
