City Unveils New, Easy Way to Request Services

GREENSBORO, NC – (December 5, 2007) – A new online work order system gives Greensboro residents yet another way to request a City service. Available on the City of Greensboro website, www.greensboro-nc.gov, the new system offers an easy way to get help with trash collection, road repairs, street signs and signals, streetlights, and stormwater drains and flooding.

“We believe that our customers will find this new system very user-friendly,” said Contact Center Manager Mary Jutte. “There is no need to understand City jargon or pick from a list of codes before you can submit your request. Instead, you’ll find easy to understand prompts in plain language that will take you step-by-step through the process of getting your concern addressed.”

This new online system is the latest customer service initiative offered by the City’s Contact Center. Since 2005, the Contact Center has been a one-stop shop for Greensboro residents with questions or concerns related to City services. Earlier this year, the Contact Center added an online chat feature that allowed web visitors to chat in real time with a City Services Representative (CSR). Requests may also be submitted via email or by calling 373-CITY (2489).

The online work order system is accessible from the home page of the City’s website and from the Online Services section of the website, as well as from other web pages throughout the site.
Since its inception, the Contact Center has answered more than 500,000 calls.

The Contact Center is staffed Monday through Friday from 7 am to 6 pm. For more information, call 373-CITY (2489) or visit www.greensboro-nc.gov.
