Meet Sandra Bowen, Author of The Cul-lud Sch-oool Teach-ur
Brown Bag Lunch - Thursday, August 16 at 12 noon Central Library, 219 N. Church St.
Former North Carolina resident Sandra Bowen will discuss and sign her second novel, The Cul-lud Sch-oool Teach-ur, at 12 noon on August 16 at the Greensboro Public Library.
The Cul-lud Sch-oool Teach-ur is a compelling and insightful saga about a time when African American school teachers were revered by practically everybody in their communities, both white and black. This status of African American teachers in the South extended from its post-slavery beginning to World War II.
Sandra Bowen is an A&T State University alumna who has contributed to anthologies, textbooks and journals. She taught African American Literature, specializing in African American Women Writers, at Arizona State University. During retirement, Bowen continues to travel extensively and is writing a third book In Search of Mammy. She currently lives in Phoenix, Arizona.
Patrons may bring their lunch and drinks will be provided. This program is sponsored by the Friends of the Library.
