Fourth Annual Teen Job & Volunteer Fair
Thursday, May 10 from 6:30 – 8:30 pm Greensboro Cultural Center
Businesses interested in filling vacancies are encouraged to attend the Fourth Annual Teen Job & Volunteer Fair at the Greensboro Cultural Arts Center, May 10 from 6:30 to 8:30 pm. Sponsored by the Greensboro Public Library, last year’s event attracted over 2,000 teens seeking employment and volunteer opportunities. Non-profit agencies seeking volunteers are also invited to participate.
Teens 16 and older can interview on the spot, submit job applications to companies that are hiring and explore volunteer opportunities with non-profit organizations. Please come dressed to interview, bring resumes if you have them, a list of references and a pen.
The library is also sponsoring several job workshops prior to the Job Fair to help teens with their job-seeking skills. Central Library will host a workshop with the Guilford County Job Links Career Center on Wednesday, May 9. This workshop will offer tips for filling out applications, appropriate attire and interviewing skills. Please contact Carole Brown at 433-7260 for workshop time and to sign up to attend.
Benjamin, Glenwood, Hemphill and the McGirt Horton branches will also offer workshops. For workshop information, please contact your nearest branch or call Rick Baker at 373-5810.
