Teen Summit Aims to Get Teens Involved
GREENSBORO, NC -- (October 29, 2007) -- The Youth First Teen Summit, set for Wednesday, October 31, from 8:30 am to 4 pm at the Greensboro Coliseum Special Events Center, is a free one-day conference for Guilford County middle and high school students to meet with local youth organizations and youth service providers, and to learn how they can get involved.
“The Teen Summit includes outstanding breakout sessions that tackle the issues of Guilford County’s teens,” said Youth First Coordinator Darryl Kosciak. “This is going to be a day that teens won’t want to miss.”
Session leaders and sponsors are: “Motivator of the Millennium” Keith L. Brown, Kwain Bryant of Empowerment Exchange, “Teens Taking Action” Youth Lead Outreach Group, and DMC Youth Ambassadors. In addition, Wes Daily, executive director of East Coast Gang Investigators Association, will speak on “Gangs: What are They Good For? Absolutely Nothing.”
The all new Youth First Step Show will perform, featuring the drum line from Brown Recreation Center and local high school and college step teams from around Guilford County.
