City To Hold Meetings on Petitioned Annexations
GREENSBORO, NC -- (March 5, 2008) -- Residents and property owners in the proposed annexation areas may choose to attend any of two meetings planned by the City of Greensboro.
The first public information meeting will take place on Tuesday, March 11 at 6 pm at McLeansville Elementary School gymnasium, 5315 Frieden’s Church Road, McLeansville. The second public information meeting will be held on Thursday, March 13 at 6 pm at Leonard Recreation Center, 6324 Ballinger Road. During both of these meetings, attendees will hear a formal presentation by City staff and will have an opportunity to talk individually with representatives from many City departments. Both meetings are open to the public.
“We encourage the residents and property owners in the proposed annexation areas to attend any of these meetings to learn about the City services available to them. These meetings provide an outstanding opportunity for residents in the annexation areas to have all of their questions answered,” said Planning Director Dick Hails.
Annexation information is also available on the City’s website at www.greensboro-nc.gov/annexation. Features of the website include an interactive map at the top of the page that allows users to enter their address to find out if they are included in the proposed annexation areas, reports on how the City plans to extend municipal services into the proposed annexation areas, sample costs per household, and a list of frequently asked questions. In addition, residents may call 373-CITY (2489) for answers to their annexation questions.
For more information on any of these meetings, contact the Planning Department at 373-2144. Meeting attendees who need an interpreter or any other auxiliary aid or service may contact Donna Gray at 373-2723.
