City Offices Closed for Good Friday Holiday results in early trash collection schedule
GREENSBORO, NC -- (March 13, 2008) – City of Greensboro offices will be closed on Friday, March 21 in observance of Good Friday. The following services and facilities will operate on a holiday schedule:
- No garbage, recycling, bulk trash, yard waste or appliance pick-up will take place on Friday, March 21. Friday’s collection will take place on Thursday, March 20. Thursday’s collection will take place on Wednesday, March 19.
- The White Street Landfill and the Solid Waste Transfer Station will both be closed on Friday, March 21. Regular hours resume Saturday, March 22.
- All branches of the Greensboro Public Library will be closed on Friday, March 21 and Sunday, March 23. The library will operate regular hours on Saturday, March 20.
- The Greensboro Historical Museum will be closed on Friday, March 21 and Sunday, March 23.
- The Greensboro Transit Authority (GTA) will operate on a normal schedule throughout the holiday weekend.
- Route 74 Tech HEAT buses will not operate on Friday, March 21. GTA Route 11 and 11A will serve as an alternative for travel to Guilford Technical Community College.
- Route 73 UNCG HEAT and Route 75 NCA&T HEAT will operate with reduced frequency on Friday, March 21.
- Career Express will operate from 6:30-9 am, 3:30-5:30 pm, and 7:30-10:30 pm. Trips will be provided by advance reservation only. Call 333-6589 by 5 pm on Thursday, March 20.
