LYFE Group Sponsors Logo Contest
GREENSBORO, NC – (April 29, 2008) – What could you do with LYFE?
Love, Youth, Faith, Empowerment, a faith-based initiative working to keep children and teenagers from becoming involved in gangs, is hosting a contest for youth ages 11-17 to develop a logo using only four letters: LYFE. The logo will be used on all LYFE brochures, t-shirts and informational products.
Sponsored by City Council member Goldie Wells, the LYFE initiative is one of several efforts under way to combat gangs in Greensboro. Other efforts include the Hope Project and the Gang Suppression Unit of the Greensboro Police Department.
Contest entries should be submitted on letter-sized paper (8.5 by 11 inches) and must be mailed to LYFE Logo Contest, PO Box 21954, Greensboro, NC 27402-1954, postmarked by Friday, May 16. Entries will be displayed at the Gang Awareness Rally on Saturday, May 24, at Eugene Levitte Field (Nocho Park), 1010 Duke Street, and the winner will be announced prior to the end of the event.
