Ribbon Cutting to Mark Reopening of Billy "Crash" Craddock Bridge

GREENSBORO, NC – (May 7, 2008) – The City of Greensboro along with the North Carolina Department of Transportation will mark the reopening of the newly replaced Billy “Crash” Craddock Bridge on Friday, May 9 at 6 pm with an on-site ribbon cutting ceremony.

During the past 16 months, the structure, which is located on 16th Street, has been closed, demolished, and rebuilt. Following the ceremony, the bridge will be opened for traffic and pedestrian use.

Expected to attend the ribbon cutting are Billy “Crash” Craddock, Mayor Yvonne Johnson, City of Greensboro Council representatives, and community residents. The event is free and open to the public. Parking is available across from Buffalo Presbyterian Church at 803 16th Street. In case of inclement weather, the event will be held inside the church facilities.
