City to Dedicate Downtown Roundabout to Former Mayor on June 12
GREENSBORO, NC – (June 10, 2008) – The City of Greensboro is pleased to officially dedicate the Holliday Traffic Circle in honor of former Mayor Keith A. Holliday on Thursday, June 12 at 6 pm.
Current and past City Council members along with other City representatives will gather at the traffic roundabout located on Greene Street just south of City Hall to recognize the former Mayor's distinguished career. Attendees will pay honor to Holliday's eight years as mayor and numerous contributions to Greensboro within city government as well as with various community building organizations and committees by bestowing his name on one of the city's newest traffic facilities.
Expected speakers include former Mayor Holliday, Mayor Pro Tem Sandra Anderson Groat and City Manager Mitchell Johnson. Following the dedication, a reception will be held at the historic Carolina Theatre which will also serve as the rain location in case of inclement weather.
