Public Hearing Set on Proposed Lee Street / Martin Luther King Jr. Ramp Closure / Removal

GREENSBORO, NC – (July 14, 2008) – The Greensboro Department of Transportation (GDOT) and the Greensboro Housing and Community Development Department will conduct a public hearing on Monday, July 21 on a proposed ramp closure and removal. The ramp proposed for closure is from eastbound East Lee Street onto Martin Luther King Jr. Drive.

The public hearing is being held to give area residents and businesses an opportunity to review and comment on the proposed ramp closure and removal. Maps will be available along with explanations on how this plan supports proposed area development and how traffic that uses the ramp will be accommodated if the ramp is removed. Comments received will be used by officials in making a final decision.

The hearing will begin at 6:30 pm and be held in the New Zion Resource Center located at 414 Martin Luther King Jr. Drive. An open house informational session will precede the hearing from 5:30-6:30 pm.
