Embezzlement and Obtaining Property by False Pretense

GREENSBORO, NC – (August 1, 2008) – At approximately 7:30 am today, Greensboro Police Detectives arrested Delores Ann Scott, an employee of the City of Greensboro Parks and Recreation Department. Scott was charged with one count of embezzlement and one count of obtaining property by false pretense.

This arrest comes after a lengthy investigation conducted by the Greensboro Police Department. Earlier this year, a random audit was conducted by the City’s Internal Audit Division and, due to an approximate $10,000 discrepancy in funds, a police investigation was initiated.

Scott was employed as the Center Supervisor of Trotter Recreation Center when this incident occurred. She has worked for the City of Greensboro since January 1, 1980.

Greensboro Police Detectives are continuing the investigation.
