Fall Harvest & Farmers Appreciation Day To Be Held at Pavilion on October 11

The Greensboro Farmers’ Curb Market will be holding it Fall Harvest & Farmers Appreciation Day at the Greensboro Coliseum Pavilion on Saturday, October 11 from 7 am - 3 pm. Admission and parking are free.

The Market is being held at the Greensboro Coliseum Complex’s Pavilion to help alleviate traffic congestion and parking conflicts at the Market’s traditional facility (501 Yanceyville Street), which is adjacent to the NC A&T campus that will be the site of numerous homecoming weekend activities.

“We are delighted to be hosting the Farmers’ Curb Market for the first time and hope it is something we can continue to do an annual basis during A&T homecoming weekend,” said Coliseum managing director Matt Brown. “We believe that vendors and patrons will enjoy the Pavilion’s size (30,000 square feet) and easy access and parking.”

Customers can expect to find all their favorite vendors with farm-fresh produce, locally-produced eggs, dairy and cheese products, fall bedding plants, hanging baskets, flower arrangements, home-baked cakes, pies & breads, Greek pastries, Mediterranean specialty foods, hand-made pottery, jewelry, quilts, apparel, metal sculpture, folk art, garden accents, photography, and much more.

In addition, a number of community groups will be featured with exhibits including Natural Triad magazine, Slow Food Piedmont Triad, Piedmont Land Conservancy, Great Harvest Bread Company, local Boy Scout Troop, Elsewhere Collaborative, Greensboro Children’s Museum, NC Theater for Young People, and Weston A. Price Foundation.

To help celebrate the Fall Harvest and to salute our local farmers, a southern breakfast will be prepared by Alex Amoroso of Cheesecakes by Alex. A number of Market vendors will be donating some of the food prepared as part of the breakfast including eggs, sausage, potatoes for hash browns, Old Mill grits, biscuits, and coffee from A Better Bean. Breakfast plates will be available to customers for a donation of $5 per plate to the market.

Join us to salute the local farmer and to enjoy a homemade southern breakfast! For more information, call 373-2402 or 373-2199.
