Public Meetings and Hearing Scheduled to Consider Paratransit Policy Changes

GREENSBORO, NC – (September 19, 2008) – A public hearing to consider policy changes to SCAT paratransit services will be held on Wednesday, October 22, 2008, at 6 pm. The hearing will take place in the boardroom of the Greensboro Cultural Arts Center, located at 200 N. Davie Street in Greensboro. Policies to be addressed include Cancellations and No-Shows on the SCAT ADA Complementary Service, Standing Orders, and the free use of Fixed Route Service for certified SCAT riders.

Prior to the hearing, two public meetings to gather public input will be held on Thursday, October 2, 2008 and Thursday, October 9, 2008, both at 6 pm at the same location. The GTA Board will act on the recommendations at its regularly scheduled board meeting in October. Users of SCAT service who may be impacted by the policies and their caregivers are strongly encouraged to attend. All meetings will be fully accessible. Persons needing transportation may call 333-6589 a day in advance to make reservations. For others, free parking is available in the Davie Street and Church Street parking decks.
