‘GPD: In-Service’ Episode Features School Resource Officers
GREENSBORO, NC – (October 3, 2008) – The newest episode of the Greensboro Police Department’s talk show, “GPD: In-Service,” features guests from the GPD’s team of school resource officers.
Now airing on Greensboro Cable Channel 13 and available for viewing on the City of Greensboro website, the episode highlights the day-to-day activities of school resource officers in middle and high schools in Greensboro. Officers Addison Edwards and Holly Pate-Johnson discuss the primary goals of school resource officers, the importance of developing rapport with the students, parents and administrators, how officers work to ensure that schools are safe places for students to learn, and the differences between working at schools and patrolling city streets.
The episode also includes footage of Officer Edwards working at Page High School, responding to a call about students who left campus and answering questions from students about driving, safety and other topics.
“GPD: In-Service” is a regular talk show produced by and aired on Channel 13. The program airs almost daily in October. The program schedule is available online at www.greensboro-nc.gov/channel13.
