City Offices to Close in Observance of Holidays
GREENSBORO, NC -- (December 16, 2008) – City of Greensboro offices will be closed on Thursday, December 25, and Friday, December 26, in observance of the holidays. The following services and facilities will operate on a holiday schedule:
• No garbage, recycling, bulk trash, yard waste and appliance collections will take place Thursday, December 25. Thursday’s collection will take place Wednesday, December 24. Friday’s collection remains the same.
• The White Street Landfill and Solid Waste Transfer Station will both be closed on Thursday, December 25. Regular hours will resume Friday, December 26.
• 336-CITY will be staffed to answer trash related calls from 7am to 2 pm on Friday, December 26, but will be closed on Thursday, December 25.
• All branches of the Greensboro Public Library will be closed Thursday, December 25, and Friday, December 26. Regular hours resume Saturday, December 27. The Greensboro Historical Museum will also be closed Thursday, December 25, and Friday, December 26. Regular hours will resume Saturday, December 27.
• The Greensboro Transit Authority (GTA) will operate on a Saturday schedule (6 am to 6 pm) with no Lawndale and High Point Road Connector services or Irving Park Shuttle service on Christmas Eve, Wednesday, December 24. There will be no service at all on Christmas Day, Thursday, December 25. Service will return to normal on Friday, December 26. SCAT will operate 6 am to 6 pm on Christmas Eve, Wednesday, December 24, with no service on Christmas Day, Thursday, December 25. Regular service will resume Friday, December 26. Also, Saturday, December 20, will be the last day of GTA’s HEAT service for the rest of 2008. Service will resume in January.
