Greensboro Beautiful Seeks Award Nominees
GREENSBORO, NC -- (May 26, 2009) – Each year, Greensboro Beautiful recognizes individuals, organizations and businesses for outstanding projects and programs, which exemplify the organization’s mission. Greensboro Beautiful is currently seeking nominations and asking the community to help find the most deserving recipients for its annual awards. These awards include:
- Volunteer Service Award: Recognizing individual achievement in community volunteerism in keeping with Greensboro Beautiful’s mission.
- Anne Boyd Ecology Award: An individual, organization or club effort that has had a positive impact on the community’s environment.
- Outstanding Single Project: A significant environmental or beautification project in the community.
- Robert L. Garrard Award of Distinction: An individual, organization or effort, which has exhibited long-term vision and positive impact on the community's quality of life.
- Community Landscape Award: Outstanding landscape installation and continued maintenance.
- Youth Service Award: Recognizing outstanding service to the community’s appearance and environment.
- Neighborhood Service Award: Recognizing individual achievement in bringing Greensboro Beautiful’s mission to the neighborhood level.
If you would like to submit a nomination for any of these awards or for more information, call Greensboro Beautiful’s office at 336-373-2199. The time frame for the awards is August 1, 2008 to July 31, 2009. Deadline for nominations is July 15. The awards will be presented at Greensboro Beautiful’s Annual Meeting and Awards Reception on Thursday, August 27.
