Tell Us What Matters to You!

GREENSBORO, NC -- (February 19, 2009) – Greensboro City Council and City staff invite you to attend one of a series of community conversations on the City of Greensboro’s budget. A meeting will be held in each Council district to provide an opportunity for residents to offer their ideas on the relative value of City services. During these difficult economic times, Council would like the input of their constituents to help set priorities for the coming year.

Meetings already scheduled are as follows:

Council District 1
Hosted by Council member T. Dianne Bellamy-Small
Saturday, March 7, at 10 am
Warnersville Recreation Center
601 Doak St.

Council District 2
Hosted by Council member Goldie Wells
Thursday, March 12, at 6 pm
Bessemer Elementary School
918 Huffine Mill Rd.

Council District 3
Hosted by Council member Zack Matheny
Monday, March 9, at 6 pm
Natural Science Center
4301 Lawndale Rd.

As the schedule is finalized for districts 4 and 5, those details will be released. We hope residents will plan to attend one of these meetings and “tell us what matters.” Anyone having special needs should call 373-2723 at least five days prior to the meeting. Residents can also stay informed about this process by visiting the City’s Budget Process page at www.greensboro-nc.gov/departments/Budget/BudgetProcess/ to get planning schedules, financial reports and latest news.
