Check Your Council District Before You Vote
GREENSBORO, NC -- (September 24, 2009) – With early voting already in progress, many Greensboro residents are just beginning to realize they will be casting ballots in a different district this election. Redistricting was necessary because the City of Greensboro annexed approximately 10,000 residents in 2008, requiring the move of 28 precincts to new voting districts. Here is a list of the voting precincts affected and the new Council districts:
To District 1 From District 2 G72 – Hairston Middle School
To Districts 1 and 2 From District 2 The following precincts are split between the two districts: JEF1 – McLeansville Baptist Church JEF2 – Calvary Baptist Church
To District 2 From District 3 G26 – St. James Home of Fresh Start MON2A – Brightwood Elementary School MON2B – Lebanon Baptist Church MON3 – Brown Summit UMC NMAD – Monticello-Brown Summit Elementary School SMAD – Madison Elementary School
To District 3 From District 2 G11 –St. Benedict’s Parrish Center
To District 3 From District 1 G44 – Greensboro College – Reynolds Center
To District 3 From District 4 SF4 – Pleasant Ridge Christian School
To District 4 From District 5 G45 – UNCG – Elliot Center G48 – Lindley Recreation Center G49 – Cedar Grove Baptist Church G50 – St. John’s UMC G63 – Emergency Services Training Room
To District 5 From District 4 FR3 – The Grove FR4 – Cornerstone Baptist Church FR5A – Calvary Church FR5B – Edgefield Baptist Church G41A – Guilford College UMC G41B – Jefferson Elementary School G42A – Faith Presbyterian Church G42B – Friends Home at Guilford G43 – Western Guilford High School G64 – Guilford Baptist Church NDRI – Shady Grove Wesleyan Church SDRI – Smith Grove Baptist Church In July 2008, the Guilford County Board of Elections mailed more than 40,000 post cards to voters advising them of their changed Council district.
