City Arts Creation Celebration is October 3

GREENSBORO, NC -- (September 25, 2009) -- Experience what City Arts has to offer every member of your family during a free festival from 11 am to 4 pm Saturday, October 3, at the Greensboro Cultural Arts Center. The event, which showcases all the dance, music, theater, and visual arts programs that take place at City Arts throughout the year, also includes a family-friendly show and sale of musician Jerry Garcia's artwork.

As part of the festival, visitors to the Cultural Arts Center that day can take a free dance class, listen to live music, watch previews of upcoming shows, add their mark to a community art project, and enjoy craft activities. The Garcia art show and sale takes place from 5-10 pm Friday, October 2, 11 am to 9 pm Saturday, October 3, and 12 noon to 6 pm Sunday, October 4.

Admission to the festival is free, however, donations are appreciated and will be used for scholarships and program outreach funds. City Arts, a division of the City's Parks and Recreation Department, offers classes and showcase opportunities in visual and performing arts for people of all ages.
