Construction to Delay GTA Service Beginning November 30
GREENSBORO, NC – (November 25, 2009) – Beginning Monday, November 30, Greensboro Transit Authority (GTA) services in the downtown area may be delayed due to roadwork. A portion of roadway at Washington and Church streets will be closed to install sewer lines, requiring most GTA and HEAT buses to use alternative routes to access the J. Douglas Galyon Depot transfer center. The detour is anticipated to delay arrivals at the Depot as well as reduce access to specific bus stops in the downtown area. The stops not served during this time will be clearly marked with signs informing patrons of the temporary change.
Transit services should return to normal operations when construction work ends on Thursday, December 3. For questions about the downtown service changes, please contact GTA customer service at 335-6499.
