         City Invites Public to Comment on Draft Land Development Ordinance

GREENSBORO, NC -- (July 21, 2009) – Beginning today, Tuesday, July 21, residents can comment on the City of Greensboro’s public review draft Land Development Ordinance (LDO), the source for standards and regulations related to land-use and development in the city. 

Comments on the draft can be given to the City’s Planning Department until Thursday, August 20. Make comments via phone at 336-373-2144 or in person by visiting its office, located on the third floor of the Melvin Municipal Office Building, 300 W. Washington St.  
 
The draft can be viewed on the Planning Department's Web site or at its office. A hard copy can be purchased for $22.

Also, the Planning Department will hold two community meetings to get public input on the draft. The meetings will be held Thursday, July 23, from 6-8 pm at the Leonard Recreation Center, 6324 Ballinger Rd., and Thursday, July 30, from 6-8 pm in the Continuing Education Center Building, Room 152, on GTCC’s Greensboro campus, 3505 E. Wendover Ave. 

City staff will be on hand at both meetings to provide additional information on the LDO and answer any questions or concerns.
