Mayor Recognizes Local Food Producers
GREENSBORO, NC -- (August 27, 2009) – Mayor Yvonne Johnson will visit the Greensboro Farmer’s Curb Market Saturday, August 29, at 9 am to proclaim Locally Produced Food Day in Greensboro. The Greensboro Farmer’s Curb Market, 501 Yanceyville St., is operated by the Greensboro Parks & Recreation Department. It gives city dwellers the opportunity to purchase directly from growers. Customers can find dairy products, home-baked goods, pork products, beef and chicken, fresh-cut flowers, potted and bedding plants, and hand-crafted items at the Market. Mayor Johnson supports local food producers by encouraging the public to include at least one meal, each week, made from locally grown foods. Learn more about the Farmers' Curb Market.
