Roadway Information Workshop Scheduled for November 19

GREENSBORO, NC -- (November 14, 2009) -- An informational workshop on the proposed realignment of Lowdermilk Street and Sykes Avenue and the closure of the Pine Street railroad crossing is scheduled for 5-7 pm Thursday, November 19, at the Guilford County Cooperative Extension Office, 3309 Burlington Rd. The workshop will be conducted by representatives from the NC Department of Transportation's (NCDOT) Rail Division and Greensboro's Department of Transportation (GDOT).

The proposed roadway projects are part of an effort to reduce the number of redundant and/or unsafe at-grade railroad crossings across the state. NCDOT and GDOT reps will explain the projects, answer questions and document your comments on the plans.

For more information, call Nancy Horne with NCDOT Rail Division at 919-715-3686.
