NCAA Champions UNC Tar Heels Return to Greensboro on Friday
GREENSBORO, NC -- (April 7, 2009) – After a memorable win on Monday night, the Tar Heels will return to the city where their 2009 NCAA Tournament run began. On Friday, April 10, Tyler Hansbrough and Danny Green, two of the most decorated players in UNC- Chapel Hill's history, will join their teammates and fans in celebrating their fifth National Championship as the 2009 Carolina Barnstorming Tour makes a stop in Greensboro.
Hanbrough, the ACC’s all-time leading scorer, and Green, who won more games in a Tar Heel uniform than any player before him, will be playing one final game at the Greensboro Coliseum’s Special Events Center, 1921 W. Lee St. The all-star game, which will benefit the Ronald McDonald House, will also feature Bobby Frasor, Mike Copeland, JB Tanner, Patrick Moody and Jack Wooten. The NCAA champs will team up with their rival Duke Blue Devils, Greg Paulus and David McClure, to play against a team of local Greensboro high school and college seniors.
Festivities will include an autograph signing with the players from 6:30-7 pm prior to the start of the game, which tips off at 7:30 pm. A 3-point shootout and dunk contest will also take place at half-time.
A limited number of tickets are still available for only $10 by visiting the Greensboro Coliseum box office, online at ticketmaster.com or by calling 800-745-3000. VIP tickets to the game have already sold out.
The Sumner Group is proud to bring this historic event to the Carolinas and give fans a chance to say thank you and goodbye to their favorite players.
