City Offices Closed in Observance of New Year’s Day

GREENSBORO, NC – (December 28, 2009) – City of Greensboro offices and facilities will be closed Friday, January 1, in observance of New Year’s Day. The following services and facilities will operate on a holiday schedule:

  • No garbage, recycling, bulk trash, yard waste, and appliance collections will take place Friday, January 1. Instead, Friday’s collection will take place Thursday, December 31, and Thursday’s collection will take place Wednesday, December 30.
  • The White Street Landfill and Solid Waste Transfer Station will both be closed Friday, January 1. Regular hours will resume Saturday, January 2.
  • The Greensboro Historical Museum and all branches of the Greensboro Public Library will be closed Friday, January 1. Regular hours will resume Saturday, January 2.
  • Greensboro Transit Authority’s (GTA) bus and Specialized Community Area Transportation (SCAT) services will operate on a Saturday schedule with services ending at 6 pm on Thursday, December 31. There will be no Career Express service. On Friday, January 1, there will be no GTA, SCAT or Career Express service. Regular service will resume on Saturday, January 2.
