City Announces Temporary Closure of Oak Street

GREENSBORO, NC – (January 14, 2009) – The City of Greensboro's Engineering and Inspections Department has announced the temporary closure of Oak Street between Coliseum Drive and Aycock Street due to a water line replacement project.

Oak Street will be closed to thru-traffic beginning Friday, January 16, until the end of the construction project, which is expected to take approximately two months. One lane of traffic will be maintained at all times for residents and emergency vehicles; however, residents are encouraged to limit on-street parking to areas where construction is not currently taking place. Signs will be posted before construction begins in each section of the project.

Motorists are asked to use caution when driving in the area and to obey posted signs.
