Traffic Alert Issued for Coliseum Area for January 17

GREENSBORO, NC -- (January 15, 2009) -- On Saturday, January 17, the Greensboro Coliseum Complex will host multiple events expected to draw capacity crowds. Events include the Eagles in concert, two performances of the Triad Best of Broadway Series presentation of “Ain’t Misbehavin’” and the North Carolina Association of Nurserymen Convention.

In anticipation of a high volume of traffic surrounding the Coliseum, the Greensboro Department of Transportation (GDOT) and Greensboro Police Department (GPD) will be instituting the reversible lane traffic system on High Point Road on Saturday, January 17.

The reversible lane system will begin at approximately 6 pm on Saturday to provide patrons with a speedy entrance to, and exit from, the facility. Additionally, the GPD will be managing major intersections in the vicinity of the Coliseum and variable messaging systems will be deployed to advise motorists with parking and traffic information.

The Greensboro Coliseum Complex, GDOT and GPD advise all patrons to plan to arrive early, at least one hour prior to event start times if possible, and carpooling is strongly encouraged.
