Traffic Alert Issued for Coliseum Area October 30-31
GREENSBORO, NC -- (October 30, 2009) -- Due to multiple events at the Greensboro Coliseum Complex today and tomorrow, October 30-31, which are expected to draw capacity crowds, the City has issued a traffic alert for the area.
Patrons of the events are advised to arrive early and carpool if possible. The Greensboro Police Department (GPD) will manage major intersections in the vicinity of the Coliseum and use variable messaging systems to advise motorists of parking and traffic information. Also, on Saturday, October 31, GPD will monitor post-concert traffic flow and "cruising" along High Point Road from Elm Street to Holden Road as part of its comprehensive plan to ensure public safety.
In addition to post-concert trash pick up on Coliseum grounds, Coliseum staff will assist with clean up in adjacent areas and the City's Field Operations Department will assist with trash pick up along High Point Road to Holden Road, including Patterson Street, Coliseum Boulevard, Florida Street and E. Lee Street.
