New City Manager Rashad Young Takes Helm Today

GREENSBORO, NC -- (October 16, 2009) – The City of Greensboro’s new City Manager, Rashad Young, assumes his duties today. As City Manager, Young serves as the chief executive officer of the City, charged with providing administrative leadership to staff, carrying out the policies, programs, ordinances and resolutions approved by City Council and overseeing all City operations.

Young will be in several meetings throughout the day. He will also be one of the speakers at Bennett College’s groundbreaking ceremony to kick-off construction of several new projects on the campus including a 144-bed residence hall, wellness center and a global learning center. The event will be held today at 11 am on Gorrell Street, next to the site for Holgate Library.
