Public Invited to Give Feedback on High Point Road/West Lee Street Corridor Plan
GREENSBORO, NC (January 7, 2010) – The public is invited to a community update meeting on the High Point Road/West Lee Street Corridor Plan. The meeting, hosted by the Central Gateway Corridor Partnership and the City of Greensboro, will be held Thursday, January 14, from 6-8 pm at the Greensboro Coliseum’s Special Events Center, inside the Atrium, 1921 W. Lee St.
Attendees will hear a presentation on the progress of the plan, including streetscape improvements, and will be asked to provide feedback that will help refine guidelines for design and development/redevelopment projects in the corridor. This is the second community meeting in a series of meetings on the topic.
Phase I of the High Point Road/West Lee Street Corridor Plan was adopted by Greensboro City Council in December 2008. The plan outlines strategies and recommendations to encourage significant new public and private investment, while improving the roadway and adjacent properties from South Eugene Street to Interstate 40. The Central Gateway Corridor Partnership, which consists of High Point Road/West Lee Street businesses, property owners and surrounding neighborhood representatives, was formed to guide the implementation of the plan’s vision and recommendations. View the plan on the City’s Web site at www.greensboro-nc.gov/corridor.
